Education has been the talk of the world agenda for several years. Firstly it was all about access to school, and most famous people use to endorse the right to education. Education was one of the crucial goals “education for all” in millennium development goals and now part of sustainable development goals.

When the scholars, experts and others can see that the goal is moving forward and more people these days have access to education the focus is shifting to more towards the quality of education.

It is like saying education is important, but quality in the education provided is even more critical. We at times think that education is a personal and subjective aspect because it only impacts the individuals who are learning but we are wrong. It is because education affects everyone and everything around. It is not only getting good grades but how you behave with other people, how you perceive things, it matters a lot.  

For all these reasons quality of the education becomes a central part. Several people and setting play a role in attaining the knowledge, but the purpose of educational institutes is the primary.

The syllabus, curriculum, and extra curriculum activities all determine the quality because they are interconnected. The international institution such as American schools in Dubai and other educational institutions have raised this idea of education with quality.

If you ask me it will be the overall ambiance of the school, the quality of the teachers and the quality of education. I know most people agree with my elements because they are central to personality development and the learning process.

It is a complicated question to ask but the most common myth in the UAE region about this is that may be quality of education is directly proportional to the fees for the school. The higher the cost is, the better the quality of education is! 

But the myth is busted, and if you see the real world scenario, then the quality of education in highly paid schools is not that high but rather an average.

Also, the high fee schools have more things beyond education which are more fancy playgrounds, more extracurricular activities and in general fancier interior or the building.

1. Focus on learning more than information:

When a student enters in a class, they are willing to learn, but most teachers in most school do  provide a vast amount of data. At the end of the class session, students know the information which is present in the book.

However, schools, where education quality is high, provide real-life example embedded with the information from the book. There is no hard and fast rule for the way teachers should go about because if children are learning more than just having information then they have a quality education.

2. Professional and unbiased staff:

If teachers or staff can separate their personal and classroom relationship separate, then they will also be able to provide quality education. Because UAE is a diverse country so people from all religions and background might be part of the classroom, so it is the responsibility of the teacher to leave their personal biases out on the door of the classroom.

Being neutral in the classroom will give the teachers and the students an opportunity to learn and collaborate more effectively.

3. Beyond just test result assessment:

There is no doubt that test results are essential to assess the class or academic performance, but a good quality education should not stick to those criteria only.

In almost all American primary schools and higher education institutions, More focus is on Home assignments, classroom presentation and participation. Going beyond the general tests will give a better idea of ways a child can perform better and in which type of assessment.
